Materials / design: academic offices walls: precast Thermomass concrete panels which functions as structure, insulation and finish. The panels consist of a layer of expanded foam insulation between 2 layers of concrete (150mm & 70mm) which maximises the walls ability to moderate temperature extremes. floors: precast slabs with a sine-wave form to their underside to allow for air movement ducting within the floor depth. This was done to increase the surface area of the ceiling and allows the concrete structure to have an increased passive heating cooling effect.
